30 July 2009: Thousands of children in the Gaza Strip attempted to set a new world record for flying kites simultaneously on a Mediterranean beach in Beit Lahiya, northern Gaza Strip. The event was organised by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), who told reporters that 6,000 children had taken part in the event.
